A Bespoke Reception Jewellery Commission for Anushri Patel

An interior designer, stylist and creative curator
, Anushri's world is built around objects with soul - weathered artifacts discovered during travel, unexpected colour combinations, layered textures, and flowers arranged with instinct rather than formula. As the daughter of renowned architect Hiren Patel, she grew up surrounded by design, but over time developed a visual language entirely her own.

Whether styling a home, sourcing an object from a flea market, or creating a floral installation, Anushri is drawn to pieces that feel lived-in, personal and quietly expressive. When she approached Aurus Fine Jewels for her reception jewellery, she wasn't searching for convention. She was searching for something that belonged to her world.

Puja Shah remembers their earliest conversations differently from most bespoke consultations. "We spent very little time talking about jewellery in the beginning. Instead, we discussed colour, travel, interiors, flowers, and objects she had collected over the years. It felt less like building a jewellery brief and more like understanding the visual language of a creative person."

Anushri spoke about shades of blue, green, and violet. She spoke about natural textures and imperfect beauty. She spoke about pieces that reveal themselves slowly rather than demanding attention immediately. The challenge was not to design jewellery for an outfit. The challenge was to translate an aesthetic philosophy into wearable form.

Most jewellery is designed around perfection. Perfect symmetry. Perfect matching stones. Perfect repetition.

Anushri's brief celebrated asymmetry, odd-even gemstone placement, natural inclusions and the individuality found within stones themselves. Rather than concealing character, the designs would embrace it.

Although florals became an important influence throughout the process, the intention was never to create literal flowers in jewellery form.

Instead, Puja looked at the way flowers behave in nature. Petals overlap imperfectly. Stems bend unexpectedly. Growth happens organically rather than symmetrically.

Those observations informed the collection and shaped every design decision.

As the collection evolved, the conversation shifted from inspiration to interpretation. Every refinement focused on preserving the spirit of the original brief. The jewellery needed to feel timeless but not traditional. Artistic but not experimental. Luxurious but never excessive. The final compositions balanced colour, texture and craftsmanship with remarkable restraint.

"The most memorable part of the process was seeing abstract ideas become tangible objects," Anushri reflects. "What began as conversations about colour, flowers, travel and collected pieces gradually transformed into jewellery that felt deeply familiar. Nothing felt imposed. Nothing felt disconnected from who I am."

For Aurus Fine Jewels, bespoke design is ultimately an act of interpretation. Anushri's journey was a reminder that jewellery can reflect a person's aesthetic, memories, curiosities and stories. The resulting collection was not simply created for a reception. It was created for Anushri - and that distinction made all the difference.
